Hey, I went to South America for five months on poker. It was awesome, the good connections are only in the major cities though.
I'm getting ready to go on another trip, Asia. Thailand's in my list...i've heard good things I've also heard they have Poker in China..athough it's probably Chinese Poker.

Cheers

Long time lurker here, saw your post and would say if you're in Paris, you should definitely try to play at the Aviation Club. It's right on the Champs-Elysees. They have a couple of tournaments a week. There's atleast a 30Euro rebuy limit tourney on Thursday nights (which i took second in there, players are very LAG) and there is are no limit ones on Tuesday and Saturday I think.

By the way, there is a minor dress code. A button down shirt or sweater, no tennis shoes or sandals and no baseball hats will get you by though.

Hope this helps.

I am typing this reply from an internet cafe in Nicaragua on the eve of my return home. This place is cheap and the surf was very nice but the internet connections are not great for poker. I doubt you have an interest in surfing so I am really just posting this because I liked the idea of making 1 post from Nicaragua.

Hi Kyle,

If you end up in Amsterdam during any part of your trip be sure to PM me. I own a bar in the center and have free WiFi for all my customers.

I'll also be able to tell you the do's and don'ts and what's going on in town. I might even be able to take you out depending on my schedule but otherwise I'm pretty sure someone else will, my regulars are not the hardest people to get to know.

There's also poker in the casino and there's a tournament going on somewhere nearly every day. I'll have no problem with hooking you up with some play. I'm always happy to talk poker of course!

Same goes for all the other 2+2ers, just PM and we'll see if we can hook up.

Quick question whats rent like in amsterdam. Talking cheap cheap nothing special. I stayed there in the hostels for 8 days a few years back, but i wasnt really paying attention to the cost of living at the time.

Rent is quite expensive over here, anything between 1200$ to 2500$ a month for something half decent on short term.

Cheaper can be found but only through hard work and contacts and you're in competition with every student in Amsterdam for that.
