Default Folding on the river for one more bet

The villian in this hand is way too loose PF. Not really aggressive postflop but not super passive either. Perhaps I should have just checked the river since I really didnt have a plan going into it

Party Poker 15.00/30.00 Hold'em <font color="#0000FF">(10 handed)</font> link

Preflop: Hero is CO with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">6 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#666666">1 folds</font>, SB calls, <font color="#666666">1 folds</font>.

Flop: (5.00 SB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, SB calls.

Turn: (3.50 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, SB calls.

River: (5.50 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">SB raises</font>

Final Pot: 9.50 BB.

If you don't have the discipline to fold this when he raises you then I would just check behind. Both draws have come in and this is seldom a bluff against a reasonable opponent.

Guilty.

I'm a huge fan of value bets on the river. But I think I check this one. That 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 's just fits into to many hands.
And a lone 6 sinks you.

I have noticed a new trend lately where players wait for the river to check-raise. (where it used to be the turn).

I think calling here is fine and it certainly should not stop you from betting the river since I'd say you're very likely to be called by a worse hand. River is scary no doubt, but scare cards make good bluff cards.
