I would fold on flop after seeing so many people call. You can lose later on and theres no way to protect your hand.

you're fine the whole way.

check-raising the flop is an interesting idea, but i wouldn't do it because 1. it won't make anyone fold, 2. i doubt you have higher that your fair-share of pot equity, 3. it will very rarely buy you any free cards given that you are first to act.

1. Who cares?
2. Hero has top pair. His equity is usually very good here.
3. We don't really need free cards.

We checkraise this because we expect UTG to bet, and even though a read is not given, there's a good chance UTG's cards whiffed at that weak little flop.

If 3-bet, we pretty much know we're beat, but we call with our ~5 outs with a plan to check/fold the turn UI.

Wouldn't it be more approprate here to donk-bet the flop and hope UTG raises everyone else off the pot?

Definitely what Gman said IMO. You have top pair, hope the raiser is on overs and bet into him, if he has an overpair, well thats why you don't call w/ that. If he raises w/ overs trying to represent the big pair, your golden, heads up w/ the best hand.

Why is leading into the raiser a donk bet?

sorry, I'm new here - can you define "donk-bet". what is the difference between a "donk-bet" and just a regular old bet?

Is it consensus to defend the big blind with 9Xs here? Because I fold preflop.
