Keep in mind that this was last years rate and my employer gets a hefty group discount. And my employeer probably pays a portion of the additional expense. I'm not surprised that it runs $415 a month for an individual. You guys (pros/semipros) should unionize and get group insurance rates. Anything cheaper is probably a rip off. When I was in college you had to pay 1k a year for insurance (if you weren't covered on your parents insurance.) It was pretty useless, you couldn't see a regular doctor and it only covered hospital stays. (Like if you got hit by a bus or something.)
