Default Best Typical Dell Deals???

I see on fatwallet that I can get 25% off an Inspiron that's $1500+...but is this a really good deal? Or do they regularly offer better discounts?

They regularly have better.

If you want somethng that'll make it easier to spot dell deals specifically, try www.gotapex.com or bensbargains.net

Cool...thanks for the info. Is there a "%-off" I should be shooting for? I tried to find "historical" coupons on those sites, but could not find anything...seems like that would be good information to have...

750 off 1500 hasn't happened for a month or so. But it happens usually a few times a quarter. Otherwise $500 of $500 is good.

Here's an additional tip for getting a great deal on Dell laptops.

do not buy any accessories to get it over the $1500 mark, instead go for upgrades to processor, screen, vga, and warranty. RAM, batteries, DVD players, wireless cards (bluetooth & wifi) can all be obtained elsewhere for 1/3 to 1/2 what Dell wants to charge and is easily installed. RAM is one of their biggest markups -- get this at crucial.com instead. The other stuff can be obtained from froogle.com or ebay. I just bought a Latitude D610 barebones and just did this... works well.

Remember, if you order new from Dell, it might be 2 weeks before you get the laptop, so you'll probably get all the accessories first.

Thanks for the tip. I will definitely remember this. Especially if they run one of those $750 off any $1500 laptop...I'm going to try and wait that sale out since we don't HAVE to have a new computer right away.
