Default Are there any full time poker players who only play in B&M\'s

Is this feasable anymore?
Given that most players say the long run is around 100K hands it would take a B&M player a year at 12 hours a day to play that sort volume. Is it a given these days that a player with poker as there only income MUST play online.

Once upon a time there was no such thing as online poker, what were all the pro's doing then? Leather asses I suppose.

online poker hasn't changed the math. it's just made things easier if you want to do it.

there are plenty of B&M poker pros out there.
B&M poker-pro is actually MORE feasible now than it was a few years ago (because the games are a bit better....and are being spread in more locations).

Also - with the automatic shufflers in the tables a live pro is now getting MORE hands per hour than he was 'back in the day' at many casinos.

There were a few full time poker pros left in vegas, but I kicked them all in the nuts.

Seriously tho, there are some, but their assess may indeed be slighly leathery. However, if your bankroll is big enough, your win rate high enough, and you're playing high enough stakes, you don't need to play 12 hours a day for a year to find success. That's just about what you need to STATISTICALLY be assured of a certain chance of success (whatever your desired confidence interval might be, depending on your own specific parameters).

So then are B&M games better now because of online poker, or were they better before, or is there no real correlation?

I suppose this is a very opinion orientated question

Let's clear something up... online poker makes live games WORSE, not better. The people who play online get much more experience much faster, and are generally better than live players. However, online players are far more often jerkoff stiffs who have no idea how to behave in a live cardroom.

It's the WPT and ESPN who have made live poker so good lately. Every idiot in the universe wants to wear glasses and make moves like johnny and phil.

See Al where I come from we are only starting to feel this affect in our B&M in Australia. And yes agreed live games are tougher. With Hachy winning the big one I shudder to think what the next 12 months will bring

You must have made a misprint, you said live games were TOUGHER. I said they were EASIER. Either a misprint on your part or communications error on my part there.

Live games are absolutely easier tho, and it's thanks to television. At least television is making the magoos want to play LIVE and not solely online.

TV magoos tip just fine as long as they get the hint early from the other players, or from a cardroom employee who has the common sense to 'splain it to 'em on their first trip to the room. Online players have it so ingrained that they don't need to tip that even when they see it over and over and over they still don't FRIGGIN' get it.

(heavy breathing)

I'll KICK YOU IN THE NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haha. I try to get the non-tippers attention when I can, but sometimes they're just generally oblivious. I don't want people to think this is another thread about tipping, so that is all.
