Default I don\'t understand..Maybe you will??

I play at poker rooms, and in tournaments. I usually make it to the top 20% in the tournaments, and 50% of the time I get paid (30/50 freezeouts..Pay top 6)I play $3/$6 in the casino and I make money.
I go online and deposit 50/100 whatever, and I get cleaned playing $.50/$1 or $1/$2. I THINK??? I am playing the same game, but I get killed!! WHat's up with this? Any ideas?? I am PERPLEXED.

1/2 online is a way tougher game than 3/6 live. Hell it's tougher than the 8/16 full kill I played in Palm desert a couple of weeks back.

You're probably not good enough yet. There is a lot to learn about online micro-limit play that you may not be aware of. What have you read? How much do you study? How many online hands of limit HE have you played?

Given the substantially higher rake+tokes at 3/6 B&M than 0.5/1 Party, is it really accurate to say that it's way tougher to be a winning player online than B&M?

Not at all, but comparing play & players between 1/2 (Party/Cryptos/Etc.) and your average 3/6 live table (often the lowest limit spread) the difference is tangible. How often have you been able to blind steal with an UTG raise in a live 3/6 game? Compare that to a typical online game, where a UTG raise will win you the blinds maybe 5% of the time.

Learn to adjust your game to the playing conditions. The online ring games are substantially tighter than B&M ring games.

I study regularily. My two mainstay books are Harringtons Holdem and Ed Millers Small Stakes Holdem..I really don't understand. I play fairly tight, and guys are stying in on junk I would never play and cleaning me....I'm not sure how many hands I've played, but enough to go through about $400 in a hurry!

SSH is the book you need to study for .50/1 and 1/2 (and beyond). However it is very difficult to correctly apply so you may need extensive explanation and reinforcement of the principals to be sure you are getting it. This forum is a SSH workshop and has helped most of us immeasurably in learning to apply the knowledge in games. Hang here a lot and you'll know what you're doing wrong pretty quickly.

You make money by making many more correct decisions than your opponenets. The reason I asked how many hands is because you may not have played enough to know whether or not you are a losing player or not. Winning players lose money from time to time over the short run but will eventually win money due to the sheer number of better decisions they make over their opponents.

I recommend buying pokertracker (or at least downloading the free sample version) and seeing what your numbers look like compared to those in the FAQ at the top of the forum recommend.

Best thing you can do is post hands you thought you played correctly or had questions about and stay away from 1/2 for now (until you are beating .5/1 for a while). Also make sure you are always playing for a bonus (www.bonuswhores.com should give you a few to start with) - it will help out somewhat.

You would also be well served to try to comment on posted hands here before reading the responses (forcing you to go through the thought process on difficult hands and seeing how your line compares to the other posters).
