im not sure if im making steals at the right times. what makes me think yes is that theres 300 to win, i have only 665 after posting the SB. folding seems too weak, so i figure thats wrong.

reads are non-existant. i havent seen this guy do anything stupid. at the same time this is my first push in this game.

is it just one of those things? maybe a raise less than the push, with the intention of all the chips going in whatever happens (called it goes in on any flop, raised i must call)

note, im not trying to be results orientated. but people calling with weak aces has been a fairly recent trend for me.

just want a second opinion here.

Look, just make pushing any two out of the SB when folded to you your default move. The only time you shouldn't be doing this is:

- you have >8xBB
- your opponent is committed to calling and you have a hand which matches up poorly against a random hand
- chip distribution makes a fold correct (this is rare)

None of these conditions apply to this hand. I'd be thrilled to actually have two suited cards to push with

The only thing wrong with this is that you forgot to river quads. Otherwise, it's perfect.

By folding A4 in the BB you are allowing people to push with any 2 with impunity. If you know your opponent is pushing any 2 in the SB, then folding is just horribly wrong. Even if you know they are pushing 70+% of hands Im sure folding is terrible.

A lot of pepole take the never call, and always push advice too far.

food for thought.

i figured id get ragged on over this post, but it never hurts more than pride to get a reality check. prolly just that my first 70ish games since coming back to party have been break-even (yes, i know, break even whilst learning is good)

thanks for positive reinforcement.

Not sure why you quoted me. Maybe it was a mistake but pushing was clearly correct, and I believe calling was correct by your opponent most of the time.
