Default Call or not from the BB?

Just want to see where everybody stands on this hand. Do you call a raise here or no?

Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (9 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is BB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG calls, 1 fold, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, MP3 raises, 1 fold, Button calls, SB calls, Hero ??

I would call here with hands as bad as 75s and 97s but not 95.

It is probably close but not enough hand to call. You also have to be somewhat worried about a backraise so that is another minus.

The probability that you will flop 3 specific cards of different ranks (with none of your rank) is 4*4*4*6/50*49*48 = .0033

Favorible flops:

432 = .0033
643 = .0033
764 = .0033
876 (straight) = .0033
T87 = .0033
JT8 = .0033
2-pair (or a house) = .022
Trips = .015

Total = 5.7% = 16.5:1 against hitting a $$ making flop

You are only getting 13:1 so it is a fold as painful as it may be.

Getting 13:1? Nah. Its not as clear-cut as most posters imply. But 13:1 isn't enough to go in to any-two-will-do mode for me. I'd need something closer 10 17:1 for that. Brief tank, then fold.

Your other hands have been decent calls or just south of calling. This one isn't close. Fold it. Short of a 955 flop, there aren't very many things you're happy to see.

fold because..
1. 9 5 offsuit is weak, if it's not good enough to limp in from late position with, it's not good enough for me to call one more from the BB.

2. you are not closing the action. You have no idea what the players yet to act are going to do, they may fold, they may limp reraise.

If this was suited or unsuited but connected, I'd play it, and dump if I don't hit a draw.
