Default Where Do You Stop Raising?....

...or do you change the way I played this hand?

6-12 at the Commerce. The table has been fairly LAGgy, but this hand wasn't. Tell me what you think.

I have A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] in the BB. all fold to LP who raises and says "thats a steam raise". She's been pretty aggressive all morning for the most part. Everyone else mucks, SB calls, I call. 3 to the flop for 3BB.

Flop: A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

SB checks, I check, she bets, SB calls, I raise, she 3-bets, SB folds, I 4-bet, she 5-bets, I call. 2 to the turn for 8.5BB.

Turn: 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img](A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img])

She bets, I call. 2 to the river for 10.5BB.

River: 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

She bets, I call.

Comments?

I think I play it the same -- 4-bet, then go into call-down mode. A lot of people say "steam raise" to entice callers when they have AA, but there's only one way for her to have AA, and save for the unlikely AJ and JJ possibilities, your hand looks pretty good. It'd be nice if she had JT, or even AK/AQ.

Don't know I would have 4bet the flop. When she raised your checkraise she either has 2pair or better or she's maniacal. I agree with calling down the turn/river.

When she 3-bet, I almost immediately thought AK/AQ. The 5-bet scared me since I have never been 5-bet before in a casino (I have at home, but thats another story for another time!).

She was pretty loose/aggressive, so I thought the 3-bet was almost immediately AK/AQ and she put me on an ace.

There's also a time to be worried about KQ for the flopped broadway. But even then you'd have outs to redraw to a boat.

I haven't seen a JoeU hand in ages. How are you Joe?

Was her statement sincere or did you think she was acting and really had pocket aces?

In this case I would just call the turn bet and then put a raise in on the river if she bets or bet if she checks. This way when you are ahead you will usually win the same amount (or more) and when you are behind you probably save a bet unless she has the nuts. Even steamers rarely 3-bet the river without a monster.

I think you're giving this player too much credit. Even a typical player 6/12 player would 3-bet AK or AQ here. And the poster has noted that she is not not typical, but rather aggressive.

Easy 4-bet on the flop.

I think I go into calldown mode when you did, but I've been called weak-tight more than my fair share.

I'm doing good. I miss the Borgata. We have to go again. The Mrs and I are planning for June.

I definitely DIDN'T think she had AA. In fact, I thought preflop that she was at worst raising with 1 face card and at the most, a big A.

I thought about popping in a raise on the river, but then decided against it.

I'll have to PM you and Zack the next time I plan ahead to go to FW, or if I'm ever in the city!

Sorry I'm posting these results so late.

She turned over KQo for the flopped nuts.

Thanks to all who responded.
