Default Working on more aggression, I think I might have gone too far

Table is running about 35% seeing the flop. Table appears to be running about normal for PS, not super aggressive, but not totally passive either.

No solid reads on anyone as this is just the start of my second cycle around the table.

All comments are greatly appreciated.

Right or wrong, that's probably the same as I'd have played it.

Good ol' predictable PS... I miss the stability it provided my bankroll even though I know the 70% seeing the flop at some of these tables over at PP makes it worth it even though 97o would have raked that hand (for 30BB).

Anyway, I don't fault the play. You improved on the turn, which would pretty much be the criteria for showing any more aggression here. I wouldn't be too surprised to see him turn over two high spades (I had some river calls at the 5/10 table with NPNK on a missed draw that to this day baffle me). If he has you beat then you can console yourself that he isn't being nearly aggressive enough (and take notes)

Why do you think you went too far? I think it's purty.

No raises preflop, I'd say its unlikely any decent poker cards were around.

Nice aggression though, you had nothing much to fear other then monster pocket cards that weren't played correctly.

At first glance, I was doubting your 3-bet on the turn. After closer review with that uncoordinated board (except the flush draw), I can't see anything wrong with your play.

Good luck

Thanks for the replies. The reinforcement is nice. I always have a hard time on being aggressive on hands like this (where my hand is VERY marginal preflop).

I did console myself with the fact that my opponent could probably have gotten me for at least 1 more bet if he had shown proper aggression. UTG turned over 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] for a set of 8s.

You played correctly, your opponent played poorly here.
