Guess what, the big issue with driving on snow isn't moving, its stoppping. Guess how many brakes cars have? Yup, one on each wheel. Guess how many SUVs have? HEY SAME NUMBER. So suburban idiots, which would probably include most of the SUV owners in this thread, get their nice big boost of confidence given their "amazing" traction on snow. Until they try to stop.

SUVs are entirely pointless. They can do 70% of what a light truck can do, and they cost more because you are buying into a wonderful, absolutely [censored] pointless brand image. Barnum would be proud.

As usual, you're only halfway correct. I've seen numerous vehicles go into a spin on roadways, and have been in vehicles twice when it happened. They were not stopping. They hit ice and spun. Four-wheel drive is good to have.

They do make people overconfident though. You're right about that. People tend to drive like idiots in the snow with their SUVs.

As for the comment about SUVs vs. light trucks, I'm not sure what that even meant, but if I'm carrying something big in the snow, I like having it covered?

If it can't comfortably carry 4 adults and a washing machine, I'm not too interested in owning it. This is why I buy 4Runners instead of Civics or Jeep Wranglers.

Although I may break down and buy a sedan in a few years, when I have enough money and health problems to pay others to move my [censored] around for me.

Right. When you're ready to drive 15 mph while bouncing off the curb on your way to the bingo parlor or the early bird at Luby's.
