Default Party $30/$60, KTo against a 2+2er.

SB in this hand is a mid-high posting 2+2er, not sure if he knows I am too. He might since I think we played together in one of those private 2+2 tables awhile back.

Preflop I believe his 3-betting range is pretty wide here, big aces & kings + most pairs.

Party Poker 30/60 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is CO with T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">6 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">SB 3-bets</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, Hero calls.

Flop: (7 SB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">SB bets</font>, Hero calls.

Turn: (4.50 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">SB bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, SB calls.

He thought a long time before calling the turn, so I did not put him on a pair...I was pretty sure he had overcards, maybe a ten for a gutshot too.

River: (8.50 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets...</font>

Final Pot: 10.50 BB

How'd I do? Comments on all streets appreciated.

I suck at poker, but I know this sort of thing only works when I capped preflop.

i call down here with AJ/AQ/AK a lot of the time given that harmless board and the HUUUUGE range of hands that could easily call the flop and raise the turn.

KQ/KJ though are mucks ... id wouldn't be laying odds if i were you.

I agree, played fine until the river where you should check behind because there aren't a lot of hands he's going to fold here that are better than yours.

Default Result

He called the river fairly quickly and his KQo is good. Ouch.

MOST of the time MOST players would lay that down at the river (if not before) barring some savage read on you (i.e. knowing you steal too light from that spot).

So ... what you did usually would work. This time it didn't.

One thing you know for sure: you will get lots of action from him in the future since he now has this info on you. Use that to your advantage.
