This seems close against a tight opponent. But then again, do you know he's tight when ITM? Even weak players have a hard time calling pushes with stuff like K5, but have no problem pushing them when desperate. You're getting 2000:800 ~ 2.5:1. Even though he's probably not pushing close to any 2, you should call since you'll still have 1/2 the total chips if you lose, and you will have a 3:1 chip lead HU if you win.

Are they only pushing premium hands or only calling with premium hands?

Either way, you have odds to call this against most reasonable ranges.

Though, since you say they are folding a lot, this is a spot where Jman's Squiggly Line Theory may make you lean more towards folding if you believe it's very close.

That's probably what you were thinking.

ICM doesn't even make a recommendation this is so close. It doesn't really matter what villain's range is, either...unless he's jamming with 100% or 10% of his hands, there isn't a clear answer.

So...it doesn't matter. Call a psychic.

They are:

1. not pushing very frequently at all just grinding down, so it looks like at least some type of hand any pair, Ax ??

2. not calling ... well ... ever. how do u think i got my stack

with that said even getting over 2:1 which some would say an auto-call with any 2, i folded and pushed the next hand blah blah ended up winning.

so despite favorable odds if u factor in the rest, i was just wondering if this is actually a better play, or just too close to even call.

I don't see a reason why wouldn't want their chips here. Losing the pot will in no way cripple you. You can just go back to grinding them off their money if you double shorty here.
