Default Nothing Special

Just going over hands and wanted to post this one.

I'm kind of new to six-max, but I like it, mainly because I'm clearing a bonus on absolute, and had been having trouble finding and keeping good tables at their .5/1. There aren't many tables, and there seemed to be a lot of tight players. I'm talking everyone folds to your preflop raise 3 times in a row tight. So this has been better. Anyway...

Small blind is kind of new, don't know much about him. BB is very tight. UTG is villian, loose player, likes to bluff a bit. Not very strong. Button is a maniac.

Comments on all streets. I think the flop is ok. I'm not sure about everything else.

I think the PF limp is questionable with only UTG involved so far. I'd dump this, but would probably play J9s.

I think the rest is good though.

Fold preflop. If you're new to shorthanded play, tighten up a little on those marginal hands. The tendency is to overplay them postflop, turning a marginal profit into a big leak.

Flop and turn look okay. Call a check-raise and fold the river unimproved. Check behind on the river most of the time if you have that opportunity.

Sometimes you will want to check the turn if villain is particularly aggressive or tricky. In that case, you stand to pick up extra money on the river when you catch your flush and you lose less when he misses his check-raise.

Fold preflop.

Almost did muck it. It's pretty bad. My only defense is I do try not to overplay this kind of hand postflop.

Cool, that was my plan too.

I thought about taking the free card but villain was pretty straightforward. I had seen him stop and go a few times previously and figured he'd probably do the same here.

Thanks, appreciate your help.
