Why did Gigabet call my allin with K8o?
$200 MTT with 30 minutes rounds. Just past the bubble. Blinds 600/1200/75, average stack T20K. Folded to me in the SB with A4o and T15K. I have A4o and push. Gigabet in BB is tournament leader with T80K. He calls with K8o. Why do you think he called?

Re: Why did Gigabet call my allin with K8o?
He thought he had best hand?
Your range is huge, and he has a K with a big stack. No brainer call for him really. Regards, Woodguy |

[/ QUOTE ] SB v BB, 15K to win 33K, he's almost certainly the needed 45% vs your range, he can afford it, and it lets people know not to f with his blind. Edit: I guess it's 14 to win 31; same thing really |

Re: Why did Gigabet call my allin with K8o?
he is familiar with your play and pushing allin indicated to him weakness and not strength. Strength is hoping to get action. He has 5 times your chip stack and looking to gamble since this will not bust him.

It costs him approx. 14k to win 29k, 2:1; he has to expect your range to be quite wide here (as Woodguy said), and he didn't believe he was a 2:1 dog. He was actually a 3:2 dog, so the call makes sense in that area. 2. He's the big stack at 80k. If he loses, he's at 65k, which, him being Gigabet, is still a lot of chips to work back up to 80k. 3. Eliminating people helps him move up the ladder in money. |

Re: Why did Gigabet call my allin with K8o?
As chip leader poised to make a deep run he might have wanted to send a message about his willingness to defend his blind and figured that communicating that was more valuable than losing a fifth of his stack 3 times out of 5.
He also might have been multi-tabling and misclicked. |

Re: Why did Gigabet call my allin with K8o?
My push range is probably the upper 2/3 of the deck there. That call doesn't suprise me at all.
