Mattingly's last season was at 34. Palmeiro's BEST season was at 34.

Palmeiro's got better era-adjusted rate stats than Mattingly despite having 4000 more PA.

Don Mattingly is easily the most overrated MLB player of the last 25 years.

EDIT: I probably shouldn't say easily - an argument could be made for Ripken as well (and I'm an Orioles fan). But my point is Mattingly was just plain not that great.
