Default Weak with QQ

Mid way through a Low limit UB tourney ~220 players remain blinds are 100/200.

In MP I have QQ and 5000 in chips.

Only action to me is Limp from table leader ~9000 in chips in EP.

I raised to 700 only the EP limper calls.

Flop comes A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] .

EP checks and I check behind: This is the mistake I think I should've bet at least 2/3 the pot instead of playing for the set.

Turn was J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. EP bet pot and I folded.

Yuck!

Could you explain the fold to me? I would have bet out on the flop, but when it's checked to the turn and a J falls, I'm still thinking bet, or in the case where he bets I'm thinking raise.

Hmmmmmmmmmm....

I think after raising pre-flop, EP has to figure you for an A or a PP. When you check behind on the flop, he can put you on a PP with almost certainty. He has every reason to bet any reasonable hand he has on the turn, and even some unreasonable hands.

If I were EP, I would have bet a 4-flush this way, as well as KQ, KJ, JT.

I think you have to bet the flop. If EP simply calls, then checks to you on the turn, you're gonna have to make a tough decision there.
