Default What is \"forced rotation\"?

In the movie Rounders, there is a line that states "they are playing $20/$40 stud, forced rotation." What does that mean?

Thanks.

I don't know the answer, and I need to cure my habit of posting replies when I don't know the answer. Nevertheless, in stud the low card's bring-in bet is sometimes called the "force"; perhaps that has something to do with it.

My understanding is that it's where the type of poker you are playing changes at regular intervals. Hold'em, Omaha etc. etc.

I believe chrisg is right. The opposite might be something like a dealer's choice game where the order of games isn't fixed.

Regards,

PS. There's also something called "forced betting" which is what I thought this originally referred to, but chrisg makes more sense after some googling.
