turn the nut boat but wait....uh oh.
hi everyone
this hand occurred in a loose 20-40. pretty cut and dry. a player who hasn't gotten too far out of line post flop reraises a KQQ board against my AA. it gets capped and we're heads up. on the turn the A hits giving me the nut boat. bet, raise and he calls. but then the Q hits on the river. now i know he has the Q when he reraises my river raise. shoot, when he bets into me i know he has the quads. but i 4 bet all-in the river anyway. how bad is the four bet here? can you ever put your opponent on quads? |

I dont think you can raise the river here. If he pops you again, you are gonna have to call, and you are gonna be very sorry you four bet.

The real bad beat here is that he wasn't playing at a casino with a jackpot drop.

Unless his opponent was holding specifically AQ, I don't think they would have received the jackpot. Even then, in some casinos, AQ would not have qualified.

AQ would qualify at the couple of places that I have been to. KQ would be the more tricky one. Does tie go to the players hand or the board?

Re: turn the nut boat but wait....uh oh.
Not to be a jackass, but the ace on the board would play, so AQ would be the tricky one. As for which ace counts, I think it's probably left up to the rulebook of the particular casino. If the board ace counts...well, now -that- is a bad beat.

Yeah, you're right.. but the question of which A plays is still a local rule.
