i'd pursue this further

this is their fault; i realize they already paid the 2nd place player the entire pot, but they need to own up to this mistake (which they did in the email) and then make amends (they partially did this, but need to give u the rest of the pot)

I think this new situation deserves more compensation than the last one. I hope you get your money.

Good luck Bob, I am in day 6 of "You have a gambling problem and are banned from Party Gaming sites" without any resolution. They sure are a joy to deal with.

they are basically calling a do-over, which I think is a good way to meet in the middle. anyone who would rather have nothing hates money.

however, I do think that you should be awarded the full pot, though it may not be worth arguing. it's not a repeatable enough offense for the principle of "potential future earnings lost" to come into play, really.

Okay - issue resolved (mostly):

Mike got back to me and informed me that I only had 1 DP available.

Not sure why regular support couldn't have informed me of that.

" 11/12/2005 1:50 DP used xxxxxxxx
11/14/2005 0:44 DP used xxxxxxxx
11/14/2005 0:50 DP reset processed N/A "

I also don't particularly care for the whole system on party in this regard either.
I use one a couple days earlier, but if I don't click on the little 'reset DP' thing in the lobby and/or don't magically somehow know that I don't have 2 DP's available then it's possible I'll have some sort of trouble at the table.

Additionally, in the thread with BicycleKick reporting on a similar issue...for those who are playing up to 10 tables it's pretty silly and inadequate to only have DP on 2 of them.

However, I did see that their own rules were, in fact, followed in this...even if they are a bit silly.

My objection was based on the fact that supposedly my DP didn't function properly and that I had two available as the previous C/S guy told me.

In Mike's e-mail to me I learned that a mere second made the difference here between getting my DP used on the table that I actually gave a damn about:

"Hand History for Game xxxxxxxxxxxx

00-44-54: Me could not respond in time.(disconnected)

00-44-54: Me Disconnect Protection enabled.

Hand History for Game xxxxxxxx

00-44-55: Me could not respond in time.(disconnected)

00-44-55: Me folds."

"Your turn to act came due on the first table 1 second before the second table, so the 1 remaining DP was enabled there. The AT hand was on the second table.

The CS Rep erred in responding to you that it was a technical error. "

Unless you were multitabling and the DP's were used on other tables prior to this one, then you should have won the pot.

Mike if you are simply going to steal everything I write you should at least give me a decent VIP bonus.

why would you keep playing at party when hands like this cost you 4 or 5 hours of playing 2BB/100 poker? I don't get it....

[/ QUOTE ]

these types of hands don't happen that often of course.

Even if I do get disconnected the chances of it happening while I'm holding a monster ANd of the DP somehow going to a different table are not very high.

There is also the chance I could benefit from the same situation if someone else gets disconnected.

I can get disconnected from other sites too...and sometimes they don't even have DP protection (like on the Stars No DP tables).

It's just one of the risks you take when playing internet-poker.

It can happen to ANYBODY.
You could play some big MTT and be at the final-table and have some kind of disconnect problem or outage in your area that costs you $100k.
