Baylor's been ranked before. They had some pretty good teams in the eighties.

Believe it or not, they even played in a bowl game in the 90s. It was the Alamo Bowl in 1994 - which I remember because they played Washington State. We won, of course. [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

Last year there were 28 bowls so while I am not positive over the how many bowls there were previously. Theoritically a team could make a bowl game without getting one vote for the top 25 poll. Although it would be pretty unlikelly for a power conference school.

Edit: In the 1994 Alamo Bowl they weren't ranked in the top 25 http://www.alamobowl.com/history/bowl.php?uid=2
