As the big stack i normally make the minimum raise with cheese and with my monsters to balance it.

But it really depends on their stack sizes and how they respond to it. If they are a bit agro and dont mind pushing you allin then you really want to tighten up and just play with Aces decent kings and stuff like QT JT etc.

K6o is a bit too weak to call an allin with so if they arent folding to minimum raises then just drop it and wait for something better.

K7o is still a bit weak but you gotta push cos the guy will be pot committed. If he thinks you are weak then he will push a lot of times and be favourite.

Also still 5 players left so they wont be super tight playing for 3rd just yet. So I'd say tighten up a bit here.

As is the solution to most poker problems, play tighter and more aggressive.

If you're going to call his reraise, why aren't you pushing? Are you trapping with K6?

Same goes for the 2nd, but I think it's a pretty easy fold.

yeah, if i'm willing to call an all-in, then i HAVE to push in the first place...the min raise was a mistake, but 500-600 woulda been a mistake as well...he only had q3s, so he prolly thought my min raise was a steal attempt and so pushed...if i pushed first, he definitely shoulda folded instead of risking his tourney life on q3s...

the 2nd one i shoulda folded definitely

i just thought i'd post on here to get criticism so i'll hopefully not do this again and also to show why u have to push, not raise with these stacks

question: the rule is that if u have <10bbs, then push, not raise...shouldn't it also be true that if all villians after you have <10bbs, then you should push, not raise, even if u have >10bbs

Yes.

But be careful to accurately gauge the lowering of your folding equity and the widening of the BB's calling range as your opponent's stack becomes much lower than 10BB. I also pay attentiont to what % of my stack the BB's stack represents. I may play weak/tight or give the BB a pass if 2 or all 3 of the folling are true: 1)I have a marginal holding with iffy showdown value, 2)his stack is a sizable % of mine and 3) I feel his calling range is wider (either because his stack is really short or because he has been my batch for the past few rounds.)

If you know it will be heads up with the shorty then yes, you should just push. If there are other parties yet to act then you might want to make your standard raise so that you can fold if the big stack pushes.

for example. you have 2000, shorty has 500, big stack has 3000. if the blinds are 50/100, you might want to raise to 250 here so that you can call shorty's push, but fold if big stack pushes.

true

i was considering the case like above where i am the big stack, but to extrapolate it out to all cases, then yes, u'd wanna be careful about pushing with more than 10bbs if there is another big stack to act after you

u don't wanna push with a decent hand only to have big guy wake up with rockets
