Default SF +4.5

have a play for you. It's a team that lost its last five road games last year:
31-14 (to a 4-win team)
37-17
45-17
20-7
31-7 (to a 6-win team)

They've also lost their road openers the last three years by double-digits. And now, unbelievably, that team is actually giving 4.5 on the road!

The team: the St. Louis Rams

SF wins this game outright- you heard it here first.

Like your thinking here. I'm going to play SF if they extend up to +6 +100. The Ram offense hype machine is alive and well among the media (Rams '04 + Steven Jackson + Kevin Curtis = 35 points/game or some derivation of this analysis). It doesn't mean San Fran's any good all of a sudden but the Rams have very little besides their O.

You can get SF at +6, which is an amazing play. They have their defense back and Brandon Loyd is prepared to become a household name. The o/u is 46, seems like under is the pick IMO. Thoughts?

Thanks for giving me a reason other than everyone and his uncle is on the Rams! Makes me like SF a bit more.

I am starting to get a little sick about my Rams choice. Besides the road problems for the Rams there is also their grass troubles.

Steven Jackson has been so dominant this preseason and the 49ers run defense has been struggling with the new 3-4 (that I don't believe they have the correct personel to run). Now I just have to hope that Mike Martz sticks to running the ball and doesn't come out and try and pass. Oh wait, now I remember why I don't ever bet on the Rams.

Martz' obsession with the pass is bizarre. His defensive personnel just love him for it, I'm sure.
