Default Re: Whats a good $$$/hour on Empire 50\'s 6 max?

Sorry for posting in an inexperienced manner, but it looks to be that 10+ PTBB's is considered a good winrate? Would this be the same for 6 max? If thats the case im quite happy with my rate (thanks Fim!). I know my sample rate is small, but I have been playing NL50s professionaly for the last year or so, so I can safely say that this sample would be justified, within a certain range.

fim,

Whats a decent conversion factor from BB/100 to $$/hour?

Thanks,

Um...'math' tells that:
[BB/100 * $/BB * Hands/Hr]/100 = $/Hr

[/ QUOTE ]

math is what poor players use as a crutch cos they're not good at feel. feel is really where its at cos sometimes i have like 33 and i just know you're bluffing so i raise all in and you have to fold cos im cool like that. guys who like math are the pokernerds we players take money from cos they theink their hot but their not.

OP can sit ther and try to do numbers and math and all that other stupid stuff that losers do or he can be like me and sit down play with guts and take home like maybe 300-1000 a night every night i play the 50NL game for like the last 7 months. i just kind of play like i want to and every night at the end of the night i win money and like my worst losing session was 12 dollars but that's cos some fish who i think worked for the site called my all-in preflop bet where i put allmy chips in with AA and i had the nuts at that point but his hand won when his j7 flopped a set of lucky sevens cos he's a damn fish. i wanted to strangle newborn kittens and change my avatar to a moving gif that showed just how awesome i am cos AA is the best hand preflop.

What is this math you speak of? Seriously, Ive only had one cup of coffee today. My real question is, without pokertracker in front of me, whats an average number of hands per hour at full ring and at 6-max?

While Fim likes to think he knows what he's talking about, its obvious he's full of crap because, like, everyone knows AA is the nuts preflop.

you want a real answer?

it depends ..it depends on you and your game and your history as a player. What's a realistic range for an earn rate a $50 NLHE 6MAX or $100 NLHE 6MAX. I am very selective I play $100 and $200 6MAX's I put alot of time in at the $50's when the $50's where 0.50/1.00 blinds now these games are the $100's. I also put alot of time in at $25 NLHE which had 0.25/0.50 blinds those are now the $50's with the same blind structure but with 100 bb max.buy-in.

In what is now the $50 NL 6MAX's w/0.25/0.50 blinds I forced myself to play this game because I was new at NL 6MAX when the games were first introduced to Party. Realize that both my winrates for what now is the $50's and $100's is tainted by the fact that early on these games were very live and easy to beat..right now they are still good but not as good..also I only played in good games cause I play other stuff:

$50 NLHE 6MAX:

371.92 hours, roughly 29,000 hands @78 hands per hour I made $9.14 per hour or ~11.64PT bb per 100 hands. I think for someone forcing themselves to play this game everyday where they cant be as selective as I was and assuming they play well anywhere from 5PTBB/100-12.50PTBB/100 is a realistic range..better players should do 8-11PTBB/100. You do realize that 1 PTBB/100 in the $50 6MAX game is $1 per 100 hands. PTBB's are 2 times the big blind...I'm sure you know that ... So if you can net lets say 7-12PTBB/100 you are making $5.46-$9.37 per hour per table(JUST ONE TABLE)...just use 100/#hands per hour or 100/78 for a 1.28 divisor.

If you find it easy to earn 7-10PTBB/100 move up to $100's they are cake.

$100 NLHE 6MAX:

I make ~$15.99 per table per hour after 298 hours or ~ 23,840 hands thats 9.99 PTBB/100. As you move up into the $200's and above it is much harder to do 10+PTBB/100.

Aim for 5-15 PTBB/100 and hone in one 7-11 or so ..do that on a sample of 15K-25K hands and move up to the $100's..IF you are struggling to do at a minimum 5-6PTBB/100 I would not move up..The $100's are very good games you want to get in those as fast as you can so you can move thru them. Starting in the $200's you really start to make some serious money full or short if you muli-table well.

btw you dont have to 4- table the $50's you may improve faster and move up faster into more profitable games if you dont multi-table so hard.

Thanks very much for the reply goodguy, much appreciated. My ptbb/100 is currently 9.34. I am almost always 4-tabling, and this is after 22.5k hands. While it isnt the greatest sample size, I think it is giving me an accurate enough reading of my progress. Also, as I said above I have been playing professionaly for around a year, I just havent been recording hands. So I guess I am ready to move up (just have to save the roll to do so).

Thoughts?

you should definetly move up to the $100's now. I think the worst run I ever was over a 2 day nightmare stretch I think I went off for 7 buy-ins or $700. All you need is $1000 to feel very comfortable.

You may want to contine playing the $50's ..do this play 3 $50's/1 $100 or maybe 2 $50's and 1 $100 ..whatever you sound like you are ready now to jump up not wait..you may need to get used to throwing around more money--thats the only obstacle but jumping from the $50's to
$100's isnt too tough.

You need a bankroll of minimum 10 buy-ins or $1000 I'm sure you can scrounge that together. Be game selective thu it will make it much easier to get off to a good start. Try and play in games with $35+ pot averages and games with obvious donators..people give their money away in NL 6MAX games.

Went back into my records to check on my worst drawdown..it was $834 over a very short 10 hour stretch. So may be 10 buy-ins would be tight bought I think $1000-$1500 would do the trick.

Notice also that I've only played 24K hands so I could posssibly be underestimating a more severe downswing that could hapeen w/a bigger sample.

i agree that 1K is enough to take a shot. But if you drop 2 buys, I would move back down to regain confidence and rebuild roll.

I gotta play for bread at the moment, so unfortunately I cant take too much of a risk even though I would love to. I actually tried a jump about a week ago, dropped 2.5 buy ins, but that was because of a few bad 2nd best hand situations. Im going to get my roll to 3k, then once Im there Im quite sure I can make the 100s my home. Your replies have given me confidence to do so.
