Default What happened to Matt Savage?

I noticed he wasn't the director this year in the (articles i read) WSOP?

I've read a few that tell of him directing in Europe. Anyone know . . .?

He had a very elaborate booth set up at the WSOP this year offering his "services". It looked like he had almost a menu of the things that he offered which included "tournament direction" and "tournament consultation" as well as "tournament assistance". There was literature there for the taking like pamphlets and cards and stuff. Very odd.... It looked like if you were going to throw a poker birthday party for an eleven year old that Matt would be happy to show up.

The story I heard (read on RGP maybe? he posts there, so you can ask him yourself) is that Harrah's wanted his exclusive services so that he couldn't direct tournaments outside of their properties. He chose not to tie himself up.

Matt said in an interview on Cardplayer.com video that they wanted someone in house to run the tournament. He ran the Full Tilt tournament at Wynn during the WSOP Main Event.

He also directed a big tourney in England recently. You can check out what he's up to in our interview.
