Need advice on structure please!
Hi,
Im trying to figure out a suitable structure for a series of small tournaments(possibly as high as 200 players, but probable average of 50) that I want to hold. My main issue is that I have a certain amount of chips to cater for these, so I am trying to find a system that is as universal and fair as possible. I am limited to 5 colours. Also, I want them to run independantly, so that chips are assigned, rather than shared. The tournaments will be both freezeouts and re-buys. Freezeouts are to be approx 4 hours long, with a 50xbb starting stack. Rebuys are to be around 6 hours long, also with a 50xbb starting stack, with unlimited rebuys for 1.5 hours, and an optional top up. Rebuys and top up are size of starting stack. Another very important condition is that the starting stacks for the freezeout and the rebuy tourneys must be the same, as in, same amount of units, same colour denominations - # of each colour isnt necessarily important. Right, considering its 50xbb, with a 5 colour limit, my current ideas are to have; Starting stack for freezeout AND rebuy; $10 x 10 $50 x 6 (+2 assigned available for colouring up) $200 x 3 (+2) = $1000 starting stack, with 19 chips (+4 for colouring up) ----OR--- $10 x 10 $50 x 8 (+2) $250 x 2 (+2) = $1000 starting stack, with 20 chips (+4 for colouring up) Regarding rebuys; we want enough to cater for each player re-buying 3 times, and topping up once. So, 200 extra starting bb's should be available per player. Obviously, the re-buy chips will also have to accomodate colouring up and fit into the rest of the game. So, we were thinking of something like this; $10 x 10 $50 x 6 (+2) $200 x 3 (+2) ------------ $500 x 2 (= $1000), x4 available for rebuys and top up, $2000 x 2 for colouring up Questions; What do you think of this set up? Do you think it is a good set up for both freezeout and rebuy? Could you recommend a better one? Which one do you think would work better in terms of blind structure? The one with the $200 chip or $250 chip? Do you think it is necessary to colour up twice in relation to the starting stack, or would it be better to have just one colouring up done? Thank you very much for your help, Regards -Cian |

Re: Need advice on structure please!
How about this:
**Level 1 blinds = 25/50, Starting Stack = $2,500 (50 x BB)** $25 x 8 $100 x 8 (+2 to colour up above) $500 x 3 (+2 to colour up above) --Re-Buy/Add On-- $500 x 1 + $2000 x 2 = 3 chips x 3 Re-Buys and 1 top up = 12 chips. $5000 x 2 (colour up) Summary (#) = Colour up chip(s) (RB/TU #) = amount of chips required of particular colour used for Re-Buys and 1 top up. $25 x 8 $100 x 8(2) $500 x 3(2)(RB/TU 3) $2000 (1) (RB/TU 3) $5000 (2) For a freezeout simply take away the Re-Buy/Top Up chips and you will be left with: $25 x 8 $100 x 8(2) $500 x 3(2) $2000 (1) $5000 (2) I'm not too sure of the best Blind Structure for this, maybe somebody else could help with that? |

Re: Need advice on structure please!
What do you all think of the above system for "cianosheehan's" request? What would be a good blinds structure too?
