Venetian poker room to become reality??
I came accross this posting on the internet for a job opening at the Venetian in Las Vegas.
Link In the Casino section: Poker Room Manger and Trainer - Poker Room edit: Funny, just over a year ago they said they didn't want the buffet and poker type clientelle in their establishment. We weren't the type of clientelle they are marketing towards. Oh please. When people call a casino nowadays....these are the 3 questions that are asked the most. 1. What's the rates? 2. Do you have a pool? and 3. Do you have poker room?? |

Re: Venetian poker room to become reality??
It's been some years since I was in Vegas, but on my last trip out there the Venetian had a poker room. It was actually just a roped-off section of the main floor of the casino, with maybe a half-dozen tables. I never saw more than 2 tables going, a 1-5 7-stud game and a 1-4-4-8 HE.
I liked the room. The room manager seemed friendly and knowledgeable, and the dealers were good, fast, and friendly. And the cocktail waitresses were to die for. And all the players had those little convention name-tags stuck on their shirts I think the room was just getting started, and died out just before the current poker boom got going strong. The manager told me that the room was fairly new (I don't think the Venetian had been open very long then), and that they got very few local players at the time. |

Sands managements wanted to wait to see if the poker trend would end before they included the pokerroom as part of their renovation. Last I heard was to open early 2006. |

If that is the case, then perhaps Steve Wynn will be credited yet again with starting something new in Las Vegas (Wynn recently hired Daniel Negreanu as the poker ambassador in Wynn's poker room). It wouldn't be the first time that Steve Wynn has started a new trend in Vegas. By this time next year, all of the major card rooms in Las Vegas could have a poker ambassador. [/ QUOTE ] I've heard that Ellix Powers is going to be the Poker Ambassador at the El Cortez. |

Re: Venetian poker room to become reality??
i am actually very disappointed by all of these higher-end hotels starting rooms (V, Paris, Casers). There just isnt enough mid-limit action to go around and it will be tougher to find consistant games.
