Default Athlete who has retired most victorious

Here's a question that is pondered as lance finishes his carreer. Which athlete in history do you think has gone out with the biggest bang or has retired with what seems to be a great deal of tallent left (the type of guy you ask what could have been)? Names that come to mind for me are Barry sanders, Bobby Jones, rocky marciano.

Jim Brown

link

In the summer of 1966, Jim stunned the sports world with his announcement that he was retiring. Fans still ponder what heights he might have reached had he stayed on the firing line a few more seasons. As exceptional as Brown's statistics were, his durability may have been even more amazing. Despite a constant pounding from defenses always stacked against him personally, he never missed a game in nine years.?

Koufax - 27-9, 1.73 ERA, 317 strikeouts (pitching triple crown, 3rd CYA).

Overall, 165-87, 2.76 ERA, over 1 strikeout per inning, 4 no-hitters...oh, and the Dodgers suck.
