I agree with the pro-Chad crowd as well. I think ESPN has done a fantastic job with their version of poker. Chad's jokes may be corny and oft repeated, but as commentary goes it is interesting. The WPT announcing is melodramatic and its format tedious. I've never watched a WPT episode more than once; I've seen every ESPN broadcast countless times. Celebrity and GSN poker? yawn...

Many of you don't remember this ,but back in the 60s, pro football analysts were like the current poker guys, in that they were boring, never said anything controversial, were shills for the game. Then things changed with John Madden. I assume poker will find its "John Madden" eventually. [/ QUOTE ] true, that's true even now. most announcers have the same catch phrases.

1. Mike Sexton 2. VVP 3. Lon Mike Sexton, please. Hes so annoying, and exaggerated every hand and every play like it was the greatest of all-time. OMG, HE RE-RAISED ALL-IN WITH AA. WHAT INSTINCTS!! HOW COULD HE POSSIBLY KNOW HE HAS THE BEST HAND RIGHT NOW?!?!

i like VVP, he's funny! what was that one dude's name? Han Le? Guy bet out, Han Le raised him, guy re-raised Le, Le pauses and is obviously disgusted because he was trying to steal and VVP says, "Le has the expression on his face like nobody showed up to his birthday party..." stuff like that cracks me up.

I think VVP is by far the worst. His knowledge of poker seems to consist of:
- knowing nicknames for starting hands, and making up ridiculous ones of his own - recognising a slow play, and saying that the guy is digging a hole and putting straw and branches over it, and speculating as to what tune is currently playing in the guy's head - typically the national anthem of whatever country the player is from, if he is not American. He looks down at the Osama Bin Laden of hands! The deck chairs on fire! The old man's nuts! The diamond encrusted teabags! The giant rotating helicopter blades of death! Pocket aces! And right now "God save Holland" or something is playing in his head! He's digging a hole and ... etc *edit* aargh I was beaten to the punch on the hole digging line, sorry [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
