Default 3 handed button straddle

Live middle limit game. RHO starts straddling on his button every hand. He is a strong player and my LHO is the real target. If I 3-bet my SB I'll likely not be getting rid of the LHO regardless which means if I play Ax etc it'll be 3 ways for 3+ bets for sure, something I wasn't real happy about. I wound up following suit and straddling my button as well as tightening up in my small blind but I was in a real bind here in this situation and not a lot I can do. Any thoughts?

1) Ax is probably best 3-way

2) you won't be able to avoid playing it for 3 bets with a straddle

so options :

1) either play rightfully aggressively, knowing you'll be ahead of the straddler much of the time

or

2) leave the game.

Am i missing something?

If there's an open seat between your two opponents, take it. If there's more than one, sit to the immediate left of the soft seat. If there's none, leave the game.
