And yeah... most of the cultured world doesn't even realize that there is a huge underworld operating around them. They dress in anything from crackhead rags to suits worth as much as the last worktruck I bought. Those guys were definitely shady to run off from front clip damage on the merc. Perhaps they had a body in the trunk, perhaps they just don't like to talk to the police and your insignificant intrusion into thier day doesn't warrant it.

I would lay 12:1 on the latter.
