Getting taken to school at 5/10 - Part 1: stats review
I started playing online a couple of months ago, briefly at 2/4 then 3/6 at PokerStars. It went very well, and I ran at close to 6BB/100 for 5k hands, obviously a lot of good cards there but the games seemed pretty beatable regardless. I then moved to 5/10, still at Stars, and have basically gotten my butt whipped. Clearly the game is more aggressive but there are a lot of bad players - I need some help to see if (really, where) I fall into that category. I'll post some problem hands as well, but to start here are the stats from my last ~10k hands. Not too different from the first 10k, but I have tightened up a bit and am respecting turn raises more than when I started.
VP$IP 22.70% Fold SB to steal 77.29 Fold BB to steal 52.44 Fold BB to steal HU 45.09 Attempt to steal blinds 24.12 Won $ when saw flop 36.61 Went to showdown 35.50 Won $ at showdown 51.20 Raise PF 10.52 PF aggression 0.71 Flop agg. 1.56 Turn agg. 2.00 River agg. 1.55 Fold to river bet 41.67% Thoughts, analysis, comments, even derisive laughter greatly appreciated. |

U could raise more preflop, be (much) more aggressive on flop (not only betting when u have a good hand, also some draws... u want to win when no1 got anyth), a bit more aggressive on turn, and fold less on river.

Re: Getting taken to school at 5/10 - Part 1: stats review
You want to get your PFR above 12% at least and your flop aggression above 2.5 if not 3.
Get your river agr to 2. |

Doesnt' look too bad, but I agree with the others that your aggression should be higher preflop and on the flop. It definitely looks like your limping preflop too much. I'd try to steal a bit more.

I agree, pf raise should be higher, especially if you're playing that tight (I think my VP$IP is ~27%) and more flop aggression good. Remember, that could just mean more folding.

10k hands of 5/10 and my VPIP is still 17%. WTF?

What's your BB/100 over that 10k? Your win at showdown seems respectable.

[/ QUOTE ] I'm almost too embarrassed to say, but it's approaching -1BB/100, and sadly, that's about what it was first 10k hands as well. It's frustrating, because many of the players seem really quite bad and the game should be beatable without being a world class player. |

Re: Getting taken to school at 5/10 - Part 1: stats review
Wow . . . I'm surprised. Reasonably tight pf, aggression numbers a little low but not too low, decent win % at showdown . . . maybe you should post some hands, because I don't see anything in these stats that explain why you're on such a horrible run.
And let's face it (and you are), being -1BB/100 after 20k hands is enough that while you might be a winning player, it's doubtful that you're in the 2BB/100 zone that should be achievable by most 2+2'ers. |
