Default TRUMP, Indiana SOLD

This deal will be completed by January 1 2006. I certainly won't miss Trump's East Chicago Indiana management team. Now that it will be Majestic Star, maybe they will dump Trump's casino management team.

GARY | Donald Trump's casino company announced this morning it has agreed to sell its Gary riverboat casino and hotel for $253 million to Majestic Star Casino LLC. The sale is aimed at freeing up cash to reduce company debt and invest it into the company's Atlantic City, N.J., resorts.

In a statement distributed by Business Wire, Trump Entertainment Resorts Inc. said it expects net proceeds of $227 million from the sale. Don Barden's Majestic Star operates the adjacent riverboat casino at Gary's Buffington Harbor, in addition to casinos in Tunica, Miss., and Black Hawk, Colo. The sale is expected to close by the end of the year.

In Gary, Trump and Majestic share the Buffington Harbor docking facility and pavilion with restaurants.

Trump, which emerged from bankruptcy protection in May, needs cash to expand its Atlantic City casinos and keep up with rivals including Harrah's Entertainment Inc. The company said last year it will build a hotel tower at the Taj Mahal casino with a $500 million loan it obtained after the restructuring.

Trump Entertainment filed for bankruptcy protection last year. Interest payments on $1.8 billion of debt left the company little money to invest in its casinos as rivals such as Harrah's and Tropicana owner Aztar Corp. added hotel towers and shopping malls.

Trump Indiana generated $137.6 million in revenue last year. The riverboat has a 43,000-square-foot casino with about 1,600 slot machines and 30 table games with the capacity to hold 2,700 passengers.

This boat is a complete rat trap. I was actually dumb enough to stay in that hotel last year. Will they be a single casino now? Not that I would ever return but just curious.

Hmm, I wonder if this means they may close the poker room. Even though I rarely frequent Trump, I like it being around so it gives Resorts some sort of competition and no monopoly on poker.

I was just there a couple days ago and a couple of dealers were talking to one of the regulars while our table was shorthanded. They mentioned the sale and that the poker room would be moved one floor lower (which seems to imply they will keep the poker room). Sounds like an improvement to me. I won't be in the area more than another 9 months, but if they move it while I'm still here it sure will be nice to have a bathroom on the same floor as the poker room.

I was there last night and didn't hear anything. I hope they keep it - the 2-5 NL is like an atm.

While we're on the Trump, there's always 2-5 500 max PL Omaha on the board but I've never been there when a game was running. Anyone know how often it goes?

I asked about the Omaha games last week and was told that they haven’t had a game in months. They offer Omaha & Omaha H/L but are not getting enough players to start a game. You can thank no limit holden for the decline in interest.

I hear that there is a new boat under construction for the Horseshoe. Blue Chip is also getting a bigger boat. The Indians are trying to put casinos in New Buffalo, Racine & Lynwood. With this I hope the Chicago area poker room situation will only improve in the future.

I was playing Saturday night and heard from someone in the 10/20 game that the PLO game did go on Friday night. I'm not positive, but he indicated that a HE game turned to PLO at some point. The dealer said she'd not seen an Omaha game going in her 6 months dealing there.

We got an O/8 game there a couple months ago, but other than that I've not seen any flavor of Omaha running there.

Regards,

T

Default Clean chips!

No Trump = No Trump Chips. I wonder if they'll have to pre-dirty the MS ones? I may have to go back.

Poker room team will likely remain in place, as Resorts did when they bought Harrah's.

I'd actually make and effort to go back if they got new tables (or at least refelted them) and chips, because what they have now is gross.
