know it all spamming 2+2

now i know its happened to most here but i was on party and this guy kept talking for hours about how good he was and accomplishments and poker strategy. he was the dickhead that table coached everyone on their play.

well after a few hours he tells a guy that he should check out twoplustwo if he wanted to improve his game, does this piss anyone else off? why cant people just play and let others sink or swim, why the need to prove how good you are?

anyway i know this has probably been said but i felt the need to vent, oh and he didnt play like a 2+2'er.

Just because people have access to 2+2 or are 2+2ers does not mean they are good poker players. Most people that have seen it are too lazy to use it anyhow. They are 'good enough' as it is.

It's not that big of a deal, really...is what i'm trying to say. Still not the best, though.

yeah he wasn't very good, but it wasn't him i was worried about. there are others at the table that could become better and all i am saying is why take a chance of teaching the fish to swim?

I know it's not a step in the right direction, but you have to realize, people don't care. If they really cared, they would have likely found it by now or will come accross it soon anyhow. They'll be too lazy to really use it, too. Many people I've tried teaching poker are like this, that's why it doesn't really worry me. They may read it from time to time...and also...almost the most important part is...reading 2+2 isn't going to make you a good poker player. It will help, for sure, but getting out there and playing hands, evaluating them, talking with friends etc is where it's at.

I tried teaching one of my friends poker. I was played 5/10 while she played 1/3 spread at the local casino...I come over and notice that she just cold called an UTG raise from MP after a bunch of folds with 78o, I almost died. I almost killed her. I gave up on her after that...I taught her pretty well too, if they want to gamb000l, they will...even with knowledge of proper strategy

You guy worry too much about this stuff. For the average person you could give them every book in the 2+2 library, make 2+2 their homepage, buy them lessons with Tommy Angelo, then come back in a year and find:

1. The books unread.
2. The browser Homepage set to ebaums world.
3. The lessons unused.

Most people do not want to put in the time. They want their leisure time to be just that leisure. It does not mean that they are stupid or lazy, it just means that poker is not important enough to them to put in the effort that it takes to become reasonably competent.

Yeah I agree. Anyone that really wants to play better and is willing to put in the time and effort necessary will find the necessary resources to do so. Those that "learn" by watching what the pros do on TV and just think they have the "natural talent" necessary to win will just keep giving away money. Plus, there are those that really know they aren't that good, and don't care. They just want to relax and have fun playing cards, and there is nothing wrong with that. Not everyone takes the game as seriously as most of us do. It is their money and they should spend it how they want. Chances are if you gave them a poker book for beginners they would thank you and put it on a shelf to collect dust.

Don't sweat it. 2+2 is not a HUGE secret. Most book stores have a poker section, and anyone that picks up a 2+2 book can see the referal to the website. If a person finds 2+2 that is not a guarentee that it will improve his or her game -- we all see trolls talking about "you guys suck with your math -- I'm outta here" all the time. If someone finds 2+2 and uses it correctly, improves his or hetr game, then frankly that person deserves to reap the benfits, and probably positively contribute to the boards. I don't see any real downside for us.

That's how I found it. I LIKE money. I really like making money doing something I enjoy.
