+EV for wearing my PP visor?
One of my few times playing live this coming weekend. Besides looking like a dork, is there any value in wearing my party poker visor?
P.S. Serious question: is it THAT bad to wear sunglasses at the lower limit tables. |

I like to wear a full outfit of party gear, including 2 hats.

Wear a full suit of plate mail armor, then you'll look like a dork

Re: +EV for wearing my PP visor?
unless you have some sort of eye-sight problem it is generally pretty silly to wear sunglasses at low-limit (I actually am very sensitive to certain types of light....so I legitimately get to look like a dork sometimes).
Otherwise, there is not really anything to gain by TRYING to look like a dork. If you are playing mid-high stakes and WANT to convey a really dork-ish image then I think the Party visor is the way to go. On the PPM cruise there were LOTS of players happily sporting their Party gear everywhere they went (including in the poker-room at the cash-game tables) and not-a-one of them failed to make it to the standard of, "Look at me. I'm a total dork!!" |

Re: +EV for wearing my PP visor?
Thanks Bob,
I like the sunglasses though, as I feel I can check everyone out without having the stareback. Call me a wimp, but I hate the staredown. Maybe if I can satellite my way into the Festa tournaments, I'll be the only one with a PP visor. PP representin! Holla. Maybe not. |

Re: +EV for wearing my PP visor?
So here's my summary of the conversation.
You: Is it really bad to wear sunglasses at low-limit poker? MicroBob: Yes. You: Eh, screw that. I'm doing it anyway. Why did you even ask? Also, yes, you will look ridiculous. If you're okay with looking like a tool, more power to you. But be aware that's the impression you'll give. Whether or not it's +EV to look foolish, I don't know. Personally, I just couldn't feel comfortable enough knowing everyone was laughing at me to make it worthwhile. |

Re: +EV for wearing my PP visor?
I was very seriously considering wearing all the Stars, Absolute, pokernow and UB crap I have on the party cruise.
Didn't go through with it though...but I thought it would have been kind of amusing. I also thought about wearing a party shirt to the PokerStars pre-WSOP gathering at the Mirage. |

Aside from looking silly, how do you even see when you're wearing sunglasses in a dim casino?
