Re: Kinda thinking about getting a tattoo
If you are going to get one, make sure it is of something meaningful to you. Don't listen to the haters.

Re: Kinda thinking about getting a tattoo
Try a stick-on tattoo for a couple of weeks, and see how it goes. Doesn't sound like you're ready for a real (permanent) tattoo. Nor have a good enough reason to get one.

Re: Kinda thinking about getting a tattoo
Seriously, I think the OP was joking about getting a tattoo. For God's sake he said he was thinking about getting the barbed wire armband. Nothing screams mid 90's louder than that. And if he wasn't kidding, well...
"I think that it's quite clear that you should not get a tattoo and I can sum up my point in this elegant yet simple bulleted list: * TATTOOS ARE PERMANENT * YOU ARE A GODDAMN IDIOT And I'd like to prove this mathematically if I may take your current age and subtract ten years from it. Were you smart back then? Of course you weren't. You were a goddamn idiot. The fact of the matter is you're just as big of an idiot today, it's just going to take you ten more years to realize it. Now think if you had drawn a picture on your body ten years ago. Would you be happy with it today? Chances are you wouldn't be."-Red vs. Blue public service announcement |

Re: Kinda thinking about getting a tattoo
when my son was born, I tatooed his japanese name and my japanese name side by side in kanji on my shoulder. I rarely go shirtless and don't wear tank tops, so it's a personal thing.

Remember also that the ravages of time on your body will uglify whatever you indelibly imprint onto your body. That cute blonde on your arm will look like The Scream by 55.
Something tells me girls with tramp stamps won't be too thrilled when it's drooping down their butt and looking like a nasty stain. |

Re: Kinda thinking about getting a tattoo
I think tattoos are great. Have a pair of them, and will be getting more.
Find an artist near you that does original work. Preferably someone who is a creative artist in another medium who also does tattoos. Think about things that mean a lot to you, that your passion for will not fade over time, that is key to having tattoos you will like for the long term, IMO. Tell the artist what you are interested in representing and have them go to work of designing something that captures that idea. Don't just go and point at something on the wall. Make it unique to you and your personality. If you cannot conceive of something that visuallyl captures the idea of one of the passions in your life, something you feel will be a permanent part of who you are, don't get one. KJS |
