Yes, but vs fishy shortstacks you can bust them more often with worse hands instead of busting them once in a while with slightly better hands. Besides I find it harder to find fishes with big stacks, maybe it's just me.

I like playing the shortstacks when they're desperate to either double-up or go home. It's easy money as the shortstacks move in and hope for the best. I think it's annoying playing against someone who KNOWS how to play a good shortstack strategy, though. They cut down your implied odds, they often have odds to call or push all-in, etc.

There are plenty of big stack fish at 50NL full-ring on Stars. Lots of them can't lay down AA, KK, or AK with TPTK. I think Party's even more fishy.

I don't think I've ever met anyone who plays shortstacks good so can't really comment on that. But yeah you're probably right, any tips on how to spot good shortstacks before they win the pot(s)?

they check/raise all in with good hands to commit an LP bettor into calling with a worse hand. They force bad players to play worse hands with bad implied and immediate odds so that there is only a PSB on the flop left in his stack. In sum they take away implied odds and exploit many players' tendencies to play too loosely in hopes to "hit a monster." They allow their small stack to encourage people to bluff them when opponents' bets actually have less weight.

If he is playing very tight preflop then he is probably playing at least decent as a shortstack. Also good shortstack players are not limping into the pot, except maybe on the button. They mostly raise or fold. This in itself however is not indicative of good shortstack play. But if he is playing tight and raising or folding, then he is probably the real deal.

I think that Pokertracker with the PA HUD is the gold standard around here. Though Pokertracker with Game Time+ is also 'acceptable'
