Default Headphones Legal?

My friend just asked me if headphones are legal when playing at the local boat (Trump, Gary). I told him I did not know, I had never seen anyone there with them. He claims he wants the whole look, the ipod, hat, and shades. I called him a tool.

But I still have to ask, are headphones legal? I can predict the dealer and players getting frustrated for him not hearing that there was a raise or anything like that every time.

every casino i have played in let me use my headphones as long as nothing is on the table (e.g. keep the player in your pocket or something). i usually keep it at a very low volume or only an earpiece in one ear so i can hear what is going on around me. only when i've just gotten my AK sucked out in a small pot to someone who "had 3 to a straight flush" after the flop with 2-4 suited do i go on tilt, jack up the volume, and retire to my own individual world. this helps me keep it to myself vs. the bitching and moaning i might do otherwise.

Your friend might just be in the running for "biggest tool of the year" with a statement like that.

Your friend may be a tool, but he won't be able to add the ipod to his list of toolish accessories in Indiana - they're not allowed.

This is not true. I have seen players with them at the Belterra. I know the Grand Vic does not allow them, but that's their policy, not IGC's.

He was asking about the Gary casinos. At Resorts EC and Trump - Gary, you cannot use them.

I was at Trump on Wednesday and iPods are definitely not allowed.

I used to not wear them, but after my last trip to Vegas, I found that my iPod helps me focus during long sessions (and when annoying people are at the table).

So my first trip to trump since then, I brought my iPod and was told it wasn't allowed.

I can only confirm for Trump but as of Wednesday it wasn't allowed.
