Default Question about stars fpps, bonuses, and tournament entries.

Say I've earned 50FPPs to clear a bonus. Can I enter a satellite that has an entry fee of 50FPPs with those points? And if I can, does it deduct them from my progress toward the bonus?

That's a good question because I saw in another thread that a guy won a couple thousand FPPs in a tournament and got an email that said he successfully cleared his bonus. It'd be interested to see how that works.

Go ahead and enter the sat. The FPPs you spend don't get subtracted from your bonus progress. (At least that's the way it worked a couple of months ago and I assume that things have not changed)

The bonus works on "lifetime" FPP - you can spend your current balance and it won't affect the bonus.

Say you need 600 FPP and you have 590. You enter a 500 FPP WCOOP satellite, leaving you with 90 FPP. You still need only 10 more FPP to clear your bonus, even though your balance will only be 100 by then.

Should you win that 500 FPP WCOOP satellite, you'll find yourself registered for the 5000 FPP Round 2 satellite. If you unregister, you'll get the 5,000 FPP added to your balance. However, those FPPs were not earnt via raked hands/tournament buyin fees, so do not count towards your deposit bonus.

The guy who said that happened to him is mistaken.

It was a bit different for the guy who said that happened. I believe he went out on the bubble, and received some FPPs, but not the full amount of the tournament. These points counted towards his bonus. Obviously this is a bug.

I haven't heard of a tournament that has FPPs in the prize pool, except in terms of seats for larger FPP entry events. I am also sure that manually credited FPPs do not count towards the bonus - I think this just guy just got confused.

(I work for PS, by the way)

Sciolist, this is pretty new.

Look at tournament 10404681, for example; it's a 90FPP Round 1 satellite to Event #13.

26th place receives 720 FPP.

This was my original posting: link

As a side note, it actually took two attempts to get through to somebody at Stars that understood this was a problem, their first reply was of Party like quality - their eventual response was to the effect of 'it'll be fixed in the next release' - so enjoy it while it lasts.

Sciolist - really, not the sort of thing people get confused about.
