Default How do you beat a table of chasers?

My local Sunday live game didn't go, so we all decided to go to "The Lodge". A bunch of younger guys who in general, are really not good. This makes this even harder to swallow. I have gradually built up my bankroll to a good enough size where I can comfortably sit in the 2/5 NLHE game.

Most of these guys buy in for $100 and I will buy in for $200 so that I have just about everyone covered. There are a couple of decent older players, but many of these cats will call a big raise with 10 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] chasing a four-flush. Hey, these guys will pay my rent in a few months, sure, but a table full of them?

Case in point...

I have a good, solid TAG image and I'm in the SB with $321 in front of me. 4 callers and I look down and find 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] . I raise to $21 (blinds $2/$5...had $19 left in white chips, not an inordinant raise). 3 callers. 2 of the 3 are EXTREME LAG'S, one of which is the guy from 2 weeks ago that chased runner runner straight to pay off my Ace full of Tens. Anyway, flop comes 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]10 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] . I bet out $75 (just under pot sized bet, representing an overpair). I get 2 callers , both the LAG's. Turn bring a gorgeous Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] . I have $225 and push. My reads are both flush draws as no raises preflop, so no AK, and with me holding 2 of the 9's, no chance they have K9 here. Souk, LAG extrodinare, insta-calls (he has me covered by about $100). The other guy, Jay, tells me he's on the flush draw but they are small and he doesn't think he can win if it comes as he knows Souk is also on the flush draw.

If this is the case, there are 6 outs that Souk has. Of course, he catches his @11% chance and a spade comes on the river.

Later, I flop top 2 pr (A's and 7's) and get run down by another flush after pumping in $100 on the flop & turn.

I kept my composure quite well and the other 2 solid players at the table had similar happenings to them last night as well. Get in with the best of it, but a LONG way, and get run down.

I understand that these are great games to get into and all and my bankroll can handle some of the swings (it's still growing, sans last night) but my God...

I guess I'm looking for some reassurance here. Hey, I KNOW I played it right, IMO. I would do the same every single time. I don't question my play, but boy does this smart...

*please insert confidence building here*

So, my question is, how do you beat a table of chasers? What would you have done differently?

nothing because I like getting my money in with the best of it.

its like asking, what do you do when you open a casino and a player hits a jackpot on your slot machine?

you pay it off and hope he comes back.

I KNOW you're right. I know I played it right. I could have dressed him down and the whole table would have thought I was nuts as "the implied odds were good and he won, didn't he?" Also, these kids aren't going anywhere.

But, in a more general sense, with a table chock-full of these types of LAG's, what is the best approach? I know I can make some real good money off of these guys, but I would appreciate some feedback on the best way to approach these types of tables.

first, don't openly apply the LAG moniker to any player that is bad.

They are only lag if they are aggressive and lots of chasers are very passive.

if your table is passive chasers, its important to bet a lot when you have a hand and not pay off when the scarecard comes even if its a small value bet.

I usually beat them by getting my money in with the best of it time and again and then I just wait for the law of averages to take hold and for my monetary earn to converge towards my EV. I suggest you do the same.

id prefer limping the 99, not playing it for pair value by clearing the field. flop a set, fill up on the turn while you build the pot on the flop and the turn and when that spade comes on the river again, take a couple of their stacks. limp a whole lot of suited aces too, so you always crack their flushes with the best flush.

agreed. i don't like raising this here because you're only a 30% chance to win here against two guys calling with overs. you seem to have a read here so thats no too bad, however. Also, i don't think I like betting this flop since you know they will be calling and you're basically drawing at this point yourself. As for the turn i really like the play tho
