ok, you've got ten outs against a straight. don't be such a pussy. at leasy call it down. a flush is drainging to seven outs afinst tyou. and well, ok, so maybe there's a higher set but you gotta pay to see it/.

This post is great. It's typed probably just like it sounds if you spoke it

Also:

should be the the new tagline for a reply instead of

None of the bettors/raisers were overly aggressive...

What does that mean? Does that mean that 3-bets = flopped a nut straight? Could it possibly mean two pair or an overpair? There are basically no realistic ways your set is a terrible underdog.

Here's your set against a flopped straight and a very live spade flush draw:

http://twodimes.net/h/?z=1190075
pokenum -h 5h 5c - 8c 6h - as 3s - 9h ah -- 9d 5s 7s
Holdem Hi: 820 enumerated boards containing 7s 5s 9d
cards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EV
5c 5h 256 31.22 560 68.29 4 0.49 0.313
8c 6h 323 39.39 493 60.12 4 0.49 0.395
As 3s 222 27.07 594 72.44 4 0.49 0.272
Ah 9h 15 1.83 801 97.68 4 0.49 0.020

Usually, you're not up against a flopped straight AND a flush draw. I'll let you visit twodimes and run those equity numbers for yourself.

I really hope this was a joke post...

You owe me a margarita for the one that I just spit onto my monitor.

Okay you can post the fact that you actually capped now. Thanks for the laugh....

Even if one player flopped the nut str8 your equity could easily be around 25%, as long as no player holds a higher set.

I don't think you have seen evidence of a higher set at this point and your flop call could easily be getting close to 4-to-1.

As much as I'd like to flame this post I also want to know what the results of the hand were. This is a good lesson for everyone that sees monsters lurking around every corner. Auto cap and only stop on another straight card or another flush card. Either way I'm in this until the river waiting for my boat, you can check/fold then if it's too scary.

BTW, if someone rolled over A9o and took this down I'm going to wet myself laughing.
