Default Help with preflop raising

Moved over from limit and I'm feeling uncomfortable raising anything other than big pairs. Can someone give me some guidelines to get started? Also should I be leading pretty much any flop I raise or is it okay to raise and then give up when i miss, on say a rag board with OCs out of position into 2 cold callers?

Thanks

To be perfectly honest, a lot of SSNL games I feel play a lot like limit, in the sense that it is small bets and raises. As such, I think in SSNL you can follow a lot of your limit game. As for general raising requirements in any loose game, I find this to be the best strategy:

In EP: AA-TT, AK-AJs, AK-AQo.
In MP: AA-88, AK-ATs, KQs, AK-AJo, KQo
In LP: AA-88, AK-A9s, KQ-KJs, AK-ATo, KQ-KJo

For full ring, this is very very aggressive IMO.

This of course meant open raises, read dependent, in a loose passive game....I change gears based on games and reads. That was just a general outline, for a 6 handed game. I guess I should've mentioned that...sorry.

Default Preflop raising guide

Full Ring:

if your first in either fold or raise unless you have PP.

if you're first in raise 4-6 BB (gebnerally 5-6 from EP and 4-5 from LP)

Always raise with AA, KK, QQ, AK, AQ

with few players in only raise from MP-LP with KQs, AJs, and LP with JJ

if other players are in (depending on how many and who) it's ok to limp with KQ, AJ, QJ, KJ, ATs

with other players in it's ok to make small (ie 2-3BB) raises with KQ, AJ if you feel the table is playing so that a worse hand will simply call, and a better hand will raise

not sure if i missed anything... and theses are rough guidlines for typical 25NL Party Tables... always table dependent... hope they help

I could be, but it of course isn't by default. Since he was new to NL, I just wqanted to alarm him that's not completely standard for full ring.

Thanks for the suggestions, they look just like limit raising hands. I would have thought unsuited overcards are worth less so the lesser ones would not be worthy of a raise, I guess not though.
