Default Other games/Time off = Imrovement?

Hey all,

After a solid year and a half of online poker and about a year of it at NLHE, I found some juicy omaha tables 2-3 months ago and have been there since then.

Then this last week, after playing little to no NLHE for those said 2+ months I came back to the game.

And I feel that as a result of playing Omaha and the adjustments that I made... I came back as a better player.

I am NOT trying to say that I won a lot this week. I did ok, but I am not talking results oriented here. I am strictly talking about the benefits of (a) some time away from the game and (b) the benefits of playing a different game and the styles that you learn to play it -- then crossing them over back to HE.

I feel that I see the game much better, can mix up my play better and have much better reads on players as well. I am not sure if it was the time off, or the skills I learned in Omaha that I am applying to HE.

That is why I am asking you. Do you feel that there are benenfits to (a) time off (not just a week or two) and are there benefits to (b) learning a new game.
