Resorts Chicago may soon allow iPods, etc.
When I was at Resorts this weekend, one of the dealers told us that they had a meeting the previous night regarding the use of music players such as portable radios, iPods, etc. He said that they are close to allowing this. My feelings are that the games will still be just as fishy, but it may allow people to tighten up a little and the social atmosphere may decline slightly...anyone else directly seen the effects of changing from prohibition to allowance of music players? Comments? (BTW, cell phones are still not allowed anywhere on the table. You still cannot even set your cell phone on the padded rail.)

Re: Resorts Chicago may soon allow iPods, etc.
I wouldn't care if the people wearing them had a few hundred hours of live poker under their belts. By and large, the people who will wear them will slow the games down even more than they were before. "Is it to me? What's the bet? Does asking these questions preceding a stare down make me look stupid?"
Poker is supposed to be a social game, so I kind of hope they don't allow iPods. |

I agree that it will probably slow down the game...but have you ever been playing at the late hours where's always a couple of people who fall asleep between every hand? It's frustrating to keep waking them to tell them it's their turn and recap the action to them...then again, it's usually these people who make the late night/early morning games even more profitable than usual.
