Actually, I for one thought that it was pretty clear that "slept together" meant that he didn't have sex with her. Otherwise, why would he even bother mentioning separately that he saw her naked? Maybe I'm way off, but I didn't think sex was really implied, although I can see that as an interpretation. Other than wording it more carefully, it would have been hard for him to make it clear that he didn't have sex with her without saying it outright, which wasn't necessarily called for since no one had asked yet.
