Default Houston Card Rooms

I dont know if anyone is from Houston or the Houston area but I have been looking for a couple rooms to go play at here for a long time so that I dont have to drive 2 hours to go to Lake Charles, La. Now that Louisiana is basically non-existent I have to find rooms here. Anyone that knows of any rooms please help! Thanks!

Non-existent?

You're from Houston, you know New Orleans and Lake Charles are on opposite ends of the state. It didn't even rain in Lake Charles when Katrina came.

Med center here.

I heard there was a litte rain in LC.

The only legal cardroom in Texas is out in El Paso I think, kickapoo something or other. I'm sure you can find home games if you want.

You might have heard that and there might have been a few sprinkles, but it was not enough to be what we call rain around here. We were far enough on the "good" side of the storm that it actually improved our normal weather. We had less rain in the area than we normally do because there weren't the usual number of summertime thermal thundershowers running around due to the North wind the storm brought to the area.

If you want to wager decent money I'd get on the road to LA. There is a good bit of safety in Casino poker.

Isn't there a small Indian casino up at the Alabama-Coushatta reservation near Livingston? I've never played there, but that's the only possibility for a legal cardroom near Houston that I can think of, other than LA of course.

I think some time ago I looked up the casino, and they play either 2-4 or 3-6 there.

i know Texas is a big state, and El Paso is a long drive from Houston, but these are the legal poker rooms in Texas I ran across while looking a while back:

Speaking Rock Casino
El Paso, Texas
915-860-7777
Toll-Free: 800-772-4646

Alabama-Coushatta Casino
Livingston, Texas
936-563-1500

Lucky Eagle Casino
Kickapoo Indian Reservation
Eagle Pass, Texas
830-758-1936
Toll-Free: 888-255-8259

never been to them, but i plan on being in El Paso near the end of the year and will try out Speaking Rock Casino

have fun!

Wow, I use to live 10 miles away from that reservation in a little washed up mud hole named Dodge. It would be an hour or so from north Houston if you know the roads.

I had heard a rummor they wanted to start a Casino but hte state shut them down after they started up. I'd be suprised if they got it open again, but stranger things have happend, and seeing how the Tribes pull things off in Washington State I wouldn't doubt that it is possible.
