Default Top pair, good kicker - played by a limit player

I normally play limit, so I'll be interested to know what everyone thinks about the way I played this . . .

W Hill £0.50-£1 6 players

MP1 calls, Hero A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] raises to £3, button calls, SB folds, BB folds, MP1 calls

Flop 3 players, pot £13.00
9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

MP1 checks, Hero bets £8.00, button calls, MP1 calls

Turn 3 players, pot £37.00
Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

MP1 checks, Hero bets £20.00, button calls, MP1 folds

River 2 players, pot £77.00
7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Hero checks, button bets £18.00, hero calls

Total pot: £110

I usually check this turn.

Yes, there is a flush draw out there. But if they were drawing, the flush is already there. Checking controls the pot better, and there isn't a need to bloat the pot with numerous draws present.

I think I c/c a blank river too, but it is read dependent.

raise more preflop. when its more than headsup on the flop, I'm not a fan of making continuation bets like this since if you get called, you don't know if they are on flush draw or they are on a pair.

it might find you in the same situation as here but potsize is more manageable.

To get good advice on post-flop play, you need to include the stack sizes, because that can alter the best play drastically. The one thing I will say, is raise more pre-flop.

But doesn't it also give them a chance to make a backdoor flush?

I was worried about the button's flat call behind me on the turn when contemplating calling on the river
