What was he thinking?
At a ceremony dedicated to remembering the liberation of the Auschwitz camp, VP Cheney was there to shovel the driveway and then do some ice fishing (apparently)
I know...it's a stupid thing to harp on, but come on what was he thinking? Article |

Re: What was he thinking?
I guess he was thinking something along the lines of:
"Dammit, its cold out here." You're right, it is a pretty stupid thing to harp on. Actually, I'm not even entirelt sure what it is you're harping on, since everyone else there is bundled up in their own way. |

Re: Typical Pettiness of Left
[ QUOTE ]
Small minds focus of small things.... [/ QUOTE ] I wouldn't say that the staff of CNN are of "small minds"... Or that this is a "small thing." First of all, he is representing a country, not just himself. And if he could brave the temperatures of his own inaguration, why not this remembrance ceremony? Although I respect that you defend the people you follow. |

Re: Typical Pettiness of Left
What does it have to do with left wing? How many times did the "left wing media" criticize Bill Clinton for his "wee little" jogging shorts or for Al Gore looking like a dork in Dockers?

"How many times did the "left wing media" criticize Bill Clinton for his "wee little" jogging shorts"
***Answer: ZERO I saw footage showing Clinton jogging several times on the nightly news. On the networks, that *I* watched they NEVER made a comment on his jogging shorts. "Al Gore looking like a dork in Dockers" ***Answer: ZERO Again I've seen Al Gore wear his Dockers several times on TV and I never heard them make disparaging comments about his pants. But perhaps you consider Joan and Melissa Rivers to be members of the media |

Re: What was he thinking?
He was hoping that the clothes would distract everyone from the irony of this statement in his speech:
"The story of the camps reminds us that evil is real, and must be called by its name, and must be confronted. We are reminded that anti-Semitism may begin with words, but rarely stops with words, and the message of intolerance and hatred must be opposed before it turns into acts of horror." |

Re: What was he thinking?
He's from Wyoming, what'd you expect? And he's not running for anything after this gig, so who cares what people think about his clothing?

Re: What was he thinking?
Oh come on! You can see snowflakes in the picture and you wonder why he was wearing a warm coat and a knit hat? I've got to admit that the Russian style fur hats look nicer, but maybe he didn't want to look like a Russsian, and get all the PETA crowd riled up, too.
