These are run lines. It is a combination of the point spread and the money line.

Your team must win by covering the run line spread - you are betting on whether or not you think a team will win by more than one run (-1 ½) or stay within one run (+1 ½). The numbers next to the run line spread are the added money line odds necessary for that run line: -150 for boston and +270 for the White Sox.

So to explain more specifically:

BOS (Clement)+1.5 1.5 CWS (Contreas) -1.5 2.7

Boston is the underdog in this matchup overall. Clement is the starter for Boston and if you think Chicago will win by only one run or will lose the game, you can bet Boston here at +1.5 runs and you'll risk -150 (-1.5) for every 100 you win. The WhiteSox are favored, but if you think that they'll win by two or more you can actually get positive odds here instead of a straight moneyline play (270 for every 100 you wager) compared to -111 or something like that if you were just picking the WhiteSox to win straight..

They list the pitchers in the lines, because you can specify that your action is only good if those exact pitchers start (or perhaps you're ok if only one specific pitcher starts).

That help?
